Quartzelec Safety Stand Down brings in 2021

21 January 2021

Quartzelec kicked off 2021 with a firm commitment to Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) throughout the Group, with all employees participating in a Safety Stand Down.

Throughout 2020 our focus has been on the safety, health and wellbeing of all our employees, ensuring their working conditions were COVID compliant. Quartzelec are committed to adhering to all Government guidelines in support of safe COVID working practices and ensuring that our employees remain COVID secure in the workplace. This is still very much a focus as we move into 2021 with measures put in place to allow our dedicated teams to deliver our extensive range of Contracting Services and Rotating Machine Maintenance and Repair skills to support critical industries and key service sectors.

Delivering a group wide Safety Stand Down was no mean feat. With employees on site and workshop based, and with support staff operational from office as well as working from home, it was important that every employee took some time away from their roles to reflect about safety in the workplace.  A number of new internal initiatives were introduced to further enhance the health and well-being of our teams, including; It’s Safe to Say – an employee focused well-being programme with the intention to provide a ‘safe’ environment to speak out or look for support without reprisal and in complete confidentiality. And a new Driver Scheme with handbooks and training, helping support Brake, the road safety charity aiming for safer driving.

The Quartzelec Group of Companies are committed to staying safe and growing stronger together.
