Quartzelec promotes Stephen Morrison to MD of its thriving Contracting business

27 February 2019

Stephen will focus on furthering the development of the Contracting business by enhancing performance through defining and delivering a sustainable growth strategy whilst remaining focused on growing the business through its key markets. These include: HV & LV services, Utility connection works, M&E construction, and Building Services maintenance, provided in varying sectors  that include commercial and multi dwelling new build, industrial, health, education, and heritage buildings.

Previously Regional Director, Stephen joined Quartzelec in 2013 and has over 30 years' senior national M&E building services and contracting industry experience. Stephen will also be invited to join the board of directors for Quartzelec Ltd and in this capacity will be responsible for ensuring that strategic and operational decisions are appropriate and comply with statutory obligations and corporate governance.

“This appointment forms part of our long-term growth and evolution strategy for the business,” stated Daniel Laval, Quartzelec Group MD. “Stephen will continue to progress the company’s strategy to develop the Contracting business plus create a more collaborative approach with Quartzelec’s Rotating Machines business offerings. Stephen has proven to be an inspirational and focused business director and I‘d like to congratulate him on his new appointment and promotion to the board and wish him every success for the future.”

Quartzelec's Contracting business has already established an enviable reputation for delivering professional, cost effective and well designed and implemented, installation and maintenance projects in the UK’s fiercely competitive contracting sector.  Growing in size year-on-year, Quartzelec has secured a portfolio of prestigious contracts and while remaining ever cautious and with margins being persistently squeezed, initial indications for increases in volume and scope of work for the year ahead look promising.

“We already have fantastic and highly skilled Contracting business units and my priority in taking the helm is to further develop this and strengthen the team ethos to ensure we continue delivering the most demanding engineering projects. I have real confidence for the sustained growth of the business moving forward,” added Stephen Morrison.
