We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-value projects within the rotating machinery and electrical engineering sectors.
This is a high-impact role managing projects from £5M to £20M across critical industries such as hydropower, nuclear, and large-scale power generation.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
- Develop business opportunities and generate quotations
- Lead the planning and implementation of project
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
- Define project tasks and resource requirements
- Communicate project expectations to team members
- Liaise with project stake holders on an on-going basis
- Develop project plans
- Define project standards and instructions
- Assemble and coordinate the project team
- Manage project budget
- Proactively manage changes in project scope
- Risk assessment and contingency plans
- Plan and schedule project timelines
- Identify project dependencies and critical path
- Provide direction and support to project team
- Quality assurance
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
- Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
- Implement and manage project changes
- Project evaluations and assessment of results
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
The successful applicant will possess:
- Role model the required behaviours and standards of work
- Must have good basic knowledge of mathematics, geometry and numeracy
- Competent IT skills Microsoft excel and MS Project
- Organised methodical worker
- Strong reporting skills & ability to act on results
- Able to work on own initiative or part of a team
- Show drive, enthusiasm and be motivated to succeed
- Willingness to take ownership
- Prepared to travel
- Experience of £5M-20M size projects
- Experience in Hydropower, Large Power Plant or Nuclear Projects
- Project Management certification: PMI, APM, PMQ or APM PPQ is advantageous but not essential
