We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Malaysia. You will take full ownership of a portfolio of projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with the client’s requirements.
This role is central to our operational success, requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders while driving project efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Seek out and develop new and existing business opportunities, preparing quotations and following up with clients.
• Create and deliver detailed project work plans, adapting as necessary to meet changing requirements.
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects.
• Ensure all project documents are complete, current, and correctly stored, including entering orders onto the Quartzelec system.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across the business to ensure efficient project implementation.
• Liaise with other Quartzelec sites to support project delivery.
• Promote personal safety and support the company’s wider safety initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with engineers and gain a strong understanding of their capabilities.
• Work with customers to fully define and agree on project work scopes.
• Take complete ownership of assigned projects, ensuring contractual requirements are understood and met.
• Monitor compliance, manage interfaces, negotiate changes/variations, and maintain contractual control.
• Manage planning activities, including preparing and controlling project schedules and ensuring visibility of dependencies and resource requirements.
• Support the Resource Manager in planning and optimising resource allocation.
• Ensure project teams and subcontractors are fully briefed with clear instructions and the correct tools and equipment.
• Oversee logistics including site requirements, transport arrangements, and equipment needs.
• Capture and provide feedback to support continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ proven project management experience within the electro-mechanical industry.
• Highly motivated self-starter with a strong customer-service mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
• Proven commercial knowledge and excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, drive accountability, and build effective working relationships.
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word; Access or similar advantageous).
• Self-driven and results-oriented with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong business awareness and the ability to understand the operational implications of decisions.
• Skilled in problem-solving with the ability to analyse, evaluate, and generate effective solutions.
• Capable of proactive planning, resource coordination, and monitoring performance to achieve goals.
• Ability to influence and persuade stakeholders to adopt effective courses of action.
