Operations Manager


We are looking for an Operations Manager to lead from the front with the ability to manage the operational, functional, customer and employee strategy in a well-established business. You will be responsible for the development of the business, maintaining existing customers ensuring a continuous pipeline of work and draw on your people, commercial and financial acumen to drive the business to success.  

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Working as part of the management team to achieve the overall objectives of the business unit by driving high standards of work and continuous improvement in process and quality of operations.
  • Develop the team by communicating, enabling problem solving, instilling confidence and delegating responsibility
  • Take lead role in, coaching and developing the workforce and ensuring quality, health and safety standards are maintained in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • To manage the full P&L,budget, and commercial responsibility of the business, including cash flow, collection and ownership of orders. Developing and delivering budgets in line with forecasts and expectations
  • Management of the business unit processes and procedures to achieve right first time and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure the retention of workshop accreditations by ensuring 100% compliance with working procedures e.g job cards
  • Proactively manage costs and improve efficiency to increase business performance and profitability
  • Day to day tender submissions and quotations

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

The successful applicant will ideally possess: -

  • Demonstrable experience of managing a team consisting of multi disciplines
  • Demonstrable experience of understanding and managing P&L, budget control, commercial and financial acumen for budgets exceeding £3m.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing a business and increasing sales and profitability
  • Customer focused thinker with outstanding interpersonal skills for communication at all levels
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop workforce.
  • Possess excellent technical knowledge of the AC/DC market
  • IOSH H&S for Managers
