Operations Manager


We support the industrial, infrastructure, commercial and service sectors with a unique range of contracting and rotating machine services as well as developing and providing support products offered through the Quartzelec group of companies.

We are looking for a Opertaions Manager to work in our business based in the Philippines who will be responsible for ensuring a continous pipeline of work for the busienss through the development of new and existing clients. 

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Working as part of the management team to achieve the overall objectives of the business by driving high standards of safety, work and continuous improvement in process and quality of operations
  • Understanding of basic accounting practices, profit & loss and budget including cash flow, debt collection and ownership of orders
  • Knowledge of Philippines commercial and financial law
  • Developing and delivering budgets in line with forecasts and expectations
  • People management experience, setting objectives, managing performance, inspiring and motivating the workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company Policies. Particular attention is drawn to the requirement to manage operational delivery in accordance with the Companies Safety Rules
  • Management of the processes and procedures to achieve right first time quality and customer satisfaction
  • Understanding the market, identifying, and delivering opportunities to tender
  • Proactively manage costs and improve efficiency to increase profit centre performance and profitability
  • Take lead role in all HR activities within the profit centres, coaching and developing the workforce ensuring quality, health and safety standards are maintained in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation
  • Role model the required behaviours and standards of work

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Background in power generation and rotating electrical machines
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a team
  • Demonstrable experience of understanding and managing P&L, budget control, commercial and financial acumen for budgets exceeding £3 million
  • Customer focused thinker with outstanding interpersonal skills for communication at all levels
  • Demonstrable experience of business development activities and or increasing sales and profitability
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop workforce
  • Possess excellent knowledge of the electrical engineering services industry and markets preferably within the R & M sector
  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering desirable
  • 3 years relevant experience in managing an engineering business
