Mechanical Maintenance Technician
We are seeking talented, motivated individuals to join our business, who can add real value in their area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities & Accountability
Your key areas of responsibility will include planned and reactive maintenance and breakdown cover for the flywheel generators and pulsed power supplies for the JET experiment.
This role is on a shift basis throughout the year on two distinct patterns:-
Operational: this is when the plant is running but can include shutdown periods for planned maintenance or due to break down of equipment.
Operational week is Monday to Friday working alternate weeks with occasional Saturday operations. Morning shift: 06.30 to 14.45 hours. Afternoon shift: 14.30 to 22.45 hours.
Maintenance: if required is carried out on an extended day shift on Saturdays from 06.30 to 16.30 hours
Shutdown Weeks, Monday to Friday 07.30 to 17.30 hours which include a paid 30 min lunch break.
A fixed 46 hour working week of work.
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes
Candidates must have a good mechanical or Electro-mechanical background ideally having served an apprenticeship in a relevant industry.
Experience of rotating machinery and associated auxiliary systems, including motors, pumps, interlock systems, hydraulics and switch gear is ideal.
