Airbus
Quartzelec is the only UK installer of the Evolynx employee/visitor management system which is being introduced at Airbus. The majority of the work involves installing sophisticated access systems on all doors in approximately 50 buildings on the Filton and Broughton sites
Arabian Gulf Oil
Quartzelec in alliance with a third party UK service provider secured the purchase order for a replacement, duplicate Flameproof cage induction motor for The Arabian Gulf Oil Company, (AGOCO), in Libya. Quartzelec’s ability to manufacture “an exact replacement” motor to directly substitute those supplied by GEC in 1988 was key in securing the contract.
Bangor Hospital
Bangor Hospital serves the North West area of Wales and is the biggest hospital in the area with A&E, maternity and other specialist units. The North West Wales Trust felt that the existing electrical infrastructure posed a risk to continuity of supply due to the age, capacity rating and current HV asset arrangement.
The Bootroom Restaurant
The new development of The Bootroom Restaurant located at the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet saw Quartzelec provide a range of low voltage electrical serivces including the design and installation of all restaurant lighting, power, security, distribution, fire alarm systems, data installation as well as audio visual services.
British Telecom
Quartzelec have been working with BT since 1994 on a number of electrical services projects covering the North Wales area, including the measured term contract which consists of work such as: - LV maintenance to BT telephone exchanges, upgrading switchgear and installing UPS systems.
Chester Zoo
’The Realm of the Red Ape’ at Chester Zoo houses the largest orang-utan exhibit in Europe and Quartzelec were responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of the complete electrical services scope including installation of the main distribution and sub-mains distribution network.
Eon Wind
Quartzelec provide a maintenance and support service for Eon’s portfolio of wind turbine generators: including on and off site works.
European Power Station
Quartzelec tendered in partnership with a leading European Service Provider for the refurbishment of an entire turbine-generator-exciter power train, driving one of the station’s units at a European based dual coal and oil power station.
Falkirk Council
Falkirk Council were looking for electrical partners capable of providing Periodic Electrical Testing and any subsequent repair services as part of a framework agreement for their stock of void council housing. It was anticipated there would be in the region of 3600 properties to inspect over a 3 year period and Falkirk Council would rely on Quartzelec.
Finning
Quartzelec provide a maintenance and support service for Finning’s portfolio of Caterpillar generators: including on and off site works.
Great Sankey School
Quartzelec provided Great Sankey High School in Warrington with extensive electrical installation services that included lighting, power, mains distribution, data, fire alarm, door access, intruder and CCTV systems. Induction loop and a PA class change system were also installed.
Housing 21
Housing 21, previously the accommodation arm of the Royal British Legion, is a leading provider of retirement housing, care and support services for older people. They are one of the largest providers of home care services in the country and currently own/manage over 15,000 properties.
INX International
Working for Pochins in the construction of INX International UK’s brand new facility in Heywood, Quartzelec were awarded the £850,000 project for the installation of lighting, power, security, distribution, fire alarm and data systems. The new facility incorporates manufacturing, distribution, warehouse and office facilities.
Island Line
Through our close partnership with London Underground and Island Line, we had the skill sets required to not just repair, but to find out the root cause, and put in place a better performance solution, so that we could extend the lifecycle of the Traction Motor
Ladybrook Primary School
Working for Stockport MBC, Quartzelec rewired and upgraded the lighting within Ladybrook School including replacing the LV distribution system and installing energy metering.
Lancashire County Council
Quartzelec have been carrying out testing and remedial works for properties belonging to Lancashire County Council for the past 15 years.
Media City - South Tower
Quartzelec delivered a £540,000 electrical contracting project at Manchester's iconic Salford Quays. The work involved a complete fit out at the landmark MediaCityUK – a vibrant and sustainable waterside community and the new home for the BBC, ITV, Coronation Street and the University of Salford. The work, carried out on floors 2-6 as well as the 7th floor bar, restaurant and screening room. The works included the provision of high end lighting, power, distribution, fire alarm, data and AV projector installations.
Middle East Power Company
Quartzelec responded to the original customer brief, which was to investigate a reported generator rotor vibration problem.
Mount ISA
Quartzelec was engaged in early 2007 to undertake a full inspection of the motor and to provide a fully-costed solution to provide a further 25 years reliable operation.
Old Hall, Great Budworth
Working with the private client to provide the electrical and mechanical refurbishment of the 16th century house, meeting all listed building requirements. Quartzelec’s installation included a full re-wire and under floor heating to the client’s exacting specification.
Oldham Coliseum Theatre
The Oldham Coliseum Theatre dates back to 1885 and is now the town’s only surviving playhouse. When the building underwent a major £1.45 million renovation, Quartzelec was awarded the contract for full electrical refurbishment to all areas. The £300,000 contract encompassed new lighting including bespoke fittings in some areas, stage lighting, specialist DMX dimmable lighting over the atrium, and theatrical external lighting scheme. Power, fire alarm, disabled refuge, data, telecommunications and PA systems were also replaced.
UK Power Networks
Quartzelec are contracted by UK Power Networks to control, operate and maintain the airports HV network. Routine maintenance identified the 11kV ring main units on east and west ring circuits should be replaced.
Salford University
Working on campus within the Allerton Building, Quartzelec were involved in the refurbishment of the W.H.O. offices, the student hub and kitchen to improve staff and student facilities on the concourse area. The scope of works included Fagerhult lighting, power, security, distribution, fire alarm, data installation and audio/video installation.
Scot Rail
Quartzelec undertook the design and build contract for the electrical infrastructure associated with the construction of 3 new rail maintenance sheds at Haymarket Depot. Including the sub-main power and small power distribution systems, general and emergency lighting and fire alarm system.
Stonyhurst College
Quartzelec were successful in securing the contract for Stonyhurst College’s new refectory at the English Heritage site near Clitheroe. Providing a range of electrical installation services that included; lighting, power, mains distribution, data, fire alarm, door access, intruder and CCTV systems.

Vroon Shipping
Vroon Shipping was experiencing problems with the electrical power supplies on their ship, the Vos Sentinel, an offshore standby vehicle. It was unable to leave Montrose harbor without a back-up power supply. Vroon Shipping contracted Quartzelec to provide an initial assessment of the electrical supply problem.
