Making key moves to strengthen its service in High Voltage operations and lightning protection, Quartzelec Wrexham has appointed Peter Brookman as Principal Engineer, responsible for HV Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems.

Joining Quartzelec in the newly created role, Peter joins the business with a remit to build on Quartzelec’s capabilities in these specific compliance activities. Peter specialises in the design, testing and assessment of HV earthing systems and also the lightning protection systems for buildings and structures.

As a member of the British Standards panel GEL81, Peter has contributed to the writing of the British Standard for Lightning Protection: BS EN 62305 and will be championing Quartzelec’s capabilities, working with both new and existing customers.

Peter has many years’ project management experience in HV substation assessment, switchgear partial discharge and overhead lines. Additionally, he has developed and delivered training courses for electrical engineers and clients who have requirements to demonstrate compliance with British Standards, including the MOD and the HSE.
