Daniel Laval, Managing Director
Daniel joined Quartzelec as Managing Director in 2003. He brings extensive experience to the organisation, with previous roles including Managing Director of GTIE Thermique, a multi-business division of Vinci Energies, Managing Director of both Controlmatic and Lee Beesley Deritend.
Ken Wanless, Finance Director and Company Secretary
Ken joined Quartzelec as Finance Director in July 2003. He previously worked for Alstom both in the UK and Belgium in various finanical roles and prior to that worked for Deloitte for 9 years, where he trained as a Chartered accountant. He has extensive experience in financial management and reporting.
David Whyte, Human Resources Director
David joined Quartzelec as Human Resources Director in April 2004. Previously HR Director with Metal Castings and with Mimtec Electronics, David brings 30 years’ HR experience to the role. He has an MA in Industrial Sociology and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Directors.
Roger Regan, Technical Director
Roger brings vast experience to the role, having joined AEI in 1965 and holding various management positions within Alstom, GEC and AEI including Motor and Generator Development, Instrumentation and Site Operations Manager. Roger is a qualifed engineer.
Tim Langhorn, Non-executive Director
Tim has worked with the business since 2005 and was appointed as Non-executive Director in 2007. He is also Chairman of the holding company Quartzinvest. Prior to this, he was with ABB as Business Development Director/VP where he was responsible for a number of significant acquisitions, business creations, disposals and joint ventures, as well as organization of large projects. Tim has an MA in Economics from Cambridge.
Bryn Morris, General Manager – Wrexham
Bryn has over 30 years experience in the electrical contracting and construction industry. A qualified engineer, he has held senior management positions within Manweb, ScottishPower and Alstom Contracting Services. Bryn has served as a board and council member of the ECA (Electrical Contractors Association).
Dave Graham, General Manager – Aberdeen, Sheffield and Grimsby
Dave joined GEC Large Machines in 1973, moving on to various management positions and levels of responsibility within Alstom, GEC and Cegelec. A qualified engineer, Dave’s industry experience spans 30 years.
Dominic Buse, General Manager – Rugby
Dominic joined GEC in 1984 and subsequently held various positions and levels of responsibility within the engineering departments of Alstom and GEC. Dominic is a qualified engineer who has over 20 years relevant industry experience.
Peter Owen, General Manager – Swansea
Peter joined GEC Alsthom in 1997 with the acquisition of the repair business in which he was a partner . A qualified engineer, his 40 years in the rotating plant industry have seen him gain a broad range of experience, including extensive site work experience at steelworks, power stations and other industrial environments.
Martin Broughton, General Manager – Manchester
Martin joined Quartzelec in March 2011, holding previous roles at a senior level in Banson Ltd and Alchem Ltd, in the electrical construction, chemical, oil & gas industries. Martin brings over 20 years’ experience and is a qualified engineer who holds an MBA from Hull University.
Ray Annable, Business Development Director
Ray is a qualified engineer with 35 years experience in the industry. He joined Norweb in 1984 and latterly founded and managed the Utility Service and HV Construction Division of Norweb Contracting. Ray holds a postgraduate Diploma in Management from Manchester Business School.
Stephen Morrison, General Manager – Hamilton
Stephen joined Quartzelec in January 2013 and brings the benefit of over 25 years' experience to the business. He has wide and varied experience of the building services contracting industry having held senior positions with national M&E building services contractors such as NG Bailey, Rotary and Balfour Beatty Engineering Services.
